Brad is a pilot with a background as an aviation attorney. He has assisted pilots with FAA enforcement actions and other claims helping them to resolve various legal and medical issues and continue flying. He has been with PilotMag from the inception, working to develop what we hope will be the finest, most interesting, aviation publication available.
Jeff comes to PilotMag with a depth of print industry experience. A pilot since 1994, Jeff is multiengine and instrument rated, has flown a multitude of aircraft ranging from ultralights and LSA’s to cabin-class turboprops and jets. He enjoys keeping an eye on how technology impacts the flying experience and has a particular affinity for aviation history. He feels that today’s pilots shouldn’t forget those that came before them.
After many years of flying, teaching and aircraft sales in the Rocky Mountain Region, Jack is a career pilot with countless hours and years within the aviation industry. He currently is the managing partner of an Enstrom Helicopter sales and service center based out of Erie, Colorado. As a career helicopter pilot, Jack holds his commercial and CFI helicopter certificate and represents a professional pilot that has persevered the challenges and discouragements of the business. A graduate of Colorado State University, Jack brings a fresh and innovative editorial style to our products. His company, Rocky Mountain Rotorcraft was looking for a line of helicopters that were reasonable to acquire and operate that would safely perform in Colorado's demanding mountain environment. Through flying numerous helicopters we became convinced Enstrom Helicopters was the best . As an aviation professional in a competitive industry and a career pilot, Jack represents our mission to develop products for pilots by pilots.
With over 24 years in the creative design field. Over the years Dan has been a key component in the successful development of several new businesses. He has worked directly with companies such as Apple, EDMC & The Art Institutes, CB RichardEllis, Spicy Pickle Restaurants, EchoStar Europe and Hallmark Cards. Dan also spent several years early in his career as a civilian artist for the U.S. Air Force (AWACS). He has been responsible for developing creative materials, multimedia, video and exhibit show creative for a host of companies and events in the region. Despite the absence of a pilot’s license, Dan brings a fresh, creative approach to all of our mediums and represents the non-aviator reader and participant. Due to the company’s mission of attracting newer pilots, Dan provides years of experience in creating social networking sites and a plethora of products that draw users in and gets them to interact.
Karen has 15 years in Sales and Marketing. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a Communication Degree. After college, she moved to Vail where she worked in advertising for KSKE radio and the Vail and Summit Daily. Upon returning to Denver she helped successfully launch Colorado Bride magazine. After taking some time off to raise 3 boys, Karen wanted to return to work and found that Pilotmag was an exciting opportunity. Karen finds aviation a fascinating market. She, too, targets aviation advertisers, apparel, adventure, real estate and travel to expand the scope of Pilotmag.
Reggie earned his certificate in gliders when he was 16 years old. He went on to powered aircraft when he was 17 and earned his instrument, commercial and certified flight instructor certificates over the next year. He's flown everything from Piper Aztecs to DeHavilland Beavers on floats and enjoyed every minute of it. Reggie has written articles for numerous aviation publications and will contribute his talents to PilotMag.
Jeff Mattoon, a native of Southern California, has been a media professional for over 20 years, specializing in television and video production. Also an award winning writer, Jeff has penned for nearly every medium, focusing on aviation since 2004. PilotMag welcomes Jeff as he and a few buddies catch a fast ride on the Mooney Acclaim Type S to the Brickyard 500. Additionally, Jeff has scripted a comprehensive editorial on the state of the VLJ in our July/August issue. We look forward to more compelling stories to come.
John brings over 14 years web development experience to Pilot Mag. He has built untold numbers of web sites and custom web-based applications. John programs in several computer languages and has broken new ground in utilizing flash and other dynamic web technologies to create fun and functional user interfaces. While not a pilot, he has logged his share of hours in commercial aircraft traveling abroad to pursue his other passion, world music.
