A 10 % discount off the general rate is available to qualified FAA approved flight and ground schools throughout the United States and Canada; FBO’s, travel agencies and resorts; non profit organizations, government entities and direct response marketing firms selling products for a stated price and not available for general distribution. Publisher reserves right to make final determination for qualifications at this rate.

Rates and Commissions:
Agency commission: 15% of gross provided full payment is received within 10 days of invoice date. Accounts not paid within these terms are subject to late payment finance charges computed at 1 ½ % per month (18% annual percentage rate) on any balance outstanding 60 days or more after billing date.

Mechanical Requirements

Publication Trim Size
Magazine trims to 8.375” x10.5”. Please keep live matter 3/8” from all sides. Perfect alignment of type or design across gutter of two facing pages cannot be guaranteed.

Pilot Magazine specs based on the page with 0.5 inch margins all around.

Digital Ad requirements
Preferred format:
PDFX1A with fonts and 300 dpi images imbedded CMYK

Color Guidance
TROO1 SWOP certified color proof of the ad. A non-SWOP certified color proof is not considered color accurate and will not be provided on press. (If an accurate color proof is not provided, Pilot Magazine will not be held responsible for exact color reproduction. If no SWOP proof can be provided, you must include a printed proof as an indication of content.

Acceptable file formats include

  • Adobe In Design CS /CS2 – include all Mac screen and printer fonts and all resource files placed in the layout (package)
  • Adobe Illustrator CS / CS2 – images must be linked (not imbedded) and included fonts must also be inluded

If we are building your ad, you must provide the following materials:

  • Typewritten text
  • Photographs, transparencies or prints, digital photos must be supplied in JPEG or TIFF formats
  • A clean, black and white logo or digital file of the logo saved as a vector EPS (Illustrator or Freehand)
  • A brief indication (mock-up) or written description of your concepts for the ad
